Hassett & Donnelly Adds James C. Wood to Boston Office

Boston, Mass.  January 27, 2016 – Hassett & Donnelly, P.C., an insurance defense trial practice firm, announced today that James C. Wood of Somerville, Massachusetts has joined the firm as an attorney in its Boston office.

Mr. Wood will focus his practice on premises liability, employment law, municipal liability and product liability matters.

Mr. Wood previously worked as a litigation associate for an established insurance defense firm in the Boston area.  He brings with him significant trial experience and a strong track record of defense verdicts.  He has notable experience defending municipal entities, public and private employers, property owners and individuals throughout Massachusetts state and federal courts and has frequently secured findings of “no probable cause” in actions brought before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Mr. Wood previously served as Senior Law Clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts (2006-2008).  In 2006, Mr. Wood earned his J.D. from University of Connecticut School of Law. During his time at the University of Connecticut School of Law, Mr. Wood served as Executive Editor of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal.  Mr. Wood earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Studies from Pennsylvania State University in 2002.

He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (2006), the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts (2008), and United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit (2008).  Mr. Wood is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association (MassDLA) and the Defense Research Institute (DRI).
