Jean D. Sifleet
Ms. Sifleet is the head of Hassett & Donnelly's Business Practice Group. An entrepreneur who has grown and sold successful businesses, Attorney Sifleet has a well-grounded, pragmatic understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing business today. With her extensive business background, Jean provides practical, outcome-focused advice.
Sifleet's areas of practice include Intellectual Property (including copyrights, trademarks, and licensing); Business Formation; Strategic Business Planning (including business succession planning); Mergers, Acquisitions and Joint Ventures; Employment Law; Contracts; and, Licensing. Her focus is on helping clients achieve their business goals by implementing smart business practices (to avoid problems) and, using legal strategies (to protect their interests). . Ms. Sifleet has worked extensively with technology companies - both start up and established - representing them in government and industry forums.
Ms. Sifleet is the author of Advantage "IP": Profit from Your Great Ideas, Smart Fast: The Desktop Reference Guide for Running Your Business; and, Beyond 401(k)s for Small Business Owners: A Practical Guide to Incentive, Deferred Compensation and Retirement Plans. Jean publishes the Web site, SmartFast.com, a legal information portal designed to help companies large and small make more informed business decisions.
She received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law, Boston, Massachusetts, and her Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.
She is a member of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bar and is a Certified Public Accountant.
