David F. Hassett
Mr. Hassett is an accomplished trial lawyer with more than 20 years of courtroom experience. Before joining the firm, Mr. Hassett served as an Assistant District Attorney, Middle District, Worcester. He regularly appears in state and federal courts throughout the Commonwealth and has argued insurance coverage issues before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. In addition, he has been recognized by Boston Magazine as one of Massachusetts' Super Lawyers for several years, most recently in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. He was also lauded by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in 2002 for his successful defense of a carbon monoxide poisoning claim.
His areas of practice include Civil Litigation, Toxic Tort Litigation (including lead paint, carbon monoxide and asbestos), Insurance Coverage Opinions, Massachusetts Consumer Protection Statute (M.G.L. c. 93A) Litigation, Insurance Coverage Litigation, Civil Rights Litigation and Municipal Liability Litigation.
Mr. Hassett's bar admissions include the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1985, United States District Court, District of Massachusetts, in 1988 and United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit, in 1992.
He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School, Newton, Massachusetts, in 1984, and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1981.
He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Worcester County Bar Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
